Relationships
Baralai is polite to others and is a respectable gentleman so you'd expect him to get along with everyone...
Baralai is polite to Rikku as the other members of YRP but Rikku seems to observe his actions and responses. But because Baralai pays more attention to Yuna for obvious reasons so doesn't pay Rikku as much attention plus he is too busy with other matters. She respects Baralai in return and admires his actions she even though there would be a relationship between Yuna and Baralai, but she thought wrong...
As everyone does ^_^' Yuna respects Baralai, and vice versa. He refers to her as the High Summoner, but is corrected by Rikku, "Her name is Yuna." He apologizes, and proceeds with business.
That's pretty much sums up the relationship between the two, business.
He wanted the sphere, and she wanted information about the man in the sphere.
I don't believe there is much to their individual relationship, except their ties with New Yevon. There's no chance of a relationship between these two as Yuna still has her heart on Tidus (<3).
Paine and Baralai knew each other in her past as they fought to be apart of the Crimson Squad.
The two were not as close as Gippal was to Paine and Baralai, but they did speak to each other.
When they meet Baralai in Bevelle, she appears to be keeping her distance from him.
He doesn't question it and respects it but later he seems to show more recognition, as he tends to care for Paine much more than he lets on.
In their battle in the Bevelle Underground, he shouts out her name as she proceeds to fight.
Baralai sees Nooj as the Captain, as wellas an old friend. Their relationship didn't go farther than the border Nooj put around himself to ward off his comrades; this proving the fact that Nooj did not understand the true importance of friendship.
They seem to put their pasts aside as a result of their dividing teams as leaders.
Baralai and Gippal are as close as Paine and Gippal they're constantly making jokes, talking, laughing, they were real friends.
Baralai, does not seem to be so wary of the Machine Faction, as he is of the Youth League, perhaps it's because he knows that his old friend Gippal led them.
Baralai and Gippal had a special bond and was always there to talk or lighten the atmosphere with jokes when they were bored, nervous, or jumpy.
