Relationships
Tifa's Parents Tifa's parents died when she was so very young (her father by Sephiroth) so she doesn't really have much memories of them but you could imagine she would've been devastated. However, this tragic occurence so young in her life led her to grow stronger as she needed to fend for herself without the love and affection from her family.
It is clear that Tifa feels something for Cloud Strife but regards to whether Cloud care and feel the same way is much debated. Besides both being strikingly beautiful and in my opinion the most compatible Final Fantasy Character heheh.. [I've got CloTi tattoo-ed on my head @_&'] their love is not clearly defined in the game. Tifa: Hmm... But that's all right, even if no one comes back. As long as I'm with you... As long as you're by my side... I won't give up even if I'm scared.
Cloud: Tifa......
Tifa: No matter how close we were... We were far apart... before this. But when we were in the Lifestream surrounded by all those screams of anguish, I thought I heard your voice... you probably don't remember this... But deep in my heart I heard you calling my name... Or at least I thought I did...
Tifa and Cloud were childhood friend which makes them have a closer bond than Aeris and Cloud will ever have (Don't worry I like CloAer too).
Though there was a love triangle between Cloud and these two girls, Aeris Gainsborough and Tifa still managed to become good friends and Aeris always brought hope to Tifa and she always had something wise to say. Tifa admired her upfront personality and wanted to learn from her.
The two got a long well and after the tragedy, Tifa was very crushed by Aerith's death. she strokes her face and runs off in tears. Tifa cared about Aeris very much, and knew more about how Aeris felt about giving her life than Cloud did. Tifa knew that Aeris would never have wanted to give her life like that, and that she never knew it would end like that.
Tifa is like a big sister to Marlene and treats her lovingly. They have a special relationship and some even say they are like mother daughter.
Having lost her real mother when Marlene was a baby and her father, Dine, committed sucide at the Gold Saucer Prison. Barret and Dine were good friends and he couldn't bare to leave little Marlene on her own.
Marlene didn't have a maternal role model to look up to but Tifa came in at the right time. Even though she's young, she could help her take care of Seventh Heaven and even run it herself when AVALANCHE needed to perform certain missions.
Tifa also gains in this relationship as she has gained a little sister, a family that she never will have...
Tifa and Barret Wallace are have a strong bond, in a Father Daughter or Sister Brother way. They work together in AVALANCHE and are close partners and have been friends for some time.
They both care about each other. Tifa has the ability to calm Barret down when something has pissed him off and Barret looks out for Tifa's safety. AVALANCHE holds it's meetings in the basement of Tifa's bar, Seventh Heaven, and Tifa is sometimes put in charge of looking after Barret's daughter Marlene.
